Just keep swimming....

I have a friend that said our theme should be "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming." Said by Dory, our friendly "glass is half full" fish from Finding Nemo.  We have to "just keep swimming" through our paperwork (and this process!), but we'll get there.

The good news is that our agency contact is now looking through the waiting children lists for our little Judah.  So, a referral could be on its way soon...or not, but it's good to know that there are eyes on the list watching for us.  Our new timeline?  Well, it depends.  My hope is that we could go to China in the fall, but I have said that once before (with Colombia), so I just need to trust that we'll get him, when we get him.  We have been told that it could be by September OR a year form then.  It really just depends on when our little guy makes the waiting children's list and we match.

Again, I want to express our thanks for the prayers and financial support so many of you have bestowed on us.  Our family is forever grateful!

New Year....new country

The year 2012 had it's highs and lows, but we are straining toward what is a head in the year 2013.

In the first few weeks of January we received about $300 more dollars from friends to put toward our adoption fund.  ALSO, a special shout out to our new teenage friends at Parkersburg High School that sold scarfs and bracelets to raise another $300 for our adoption.  We are so thankful!

We have already had the opportunity to amend our Ohio Home-study so that it reflects what is needed for a China adoption.  With the Home-study completed we can begin (again) the dossier, or the really BIG paperwork for China.  Unfortunately all of the documents that we completed for our first dossier for Colombia cannot be used for our China dossier.  The adoption agency wants all new papers with all new dates reflecting 2013.  I am off for 2 weeks right now because of the recent surgery on my foot, so as I sit here in the recliner I can work on obtaining our new paperwork.  When we were compiling documents for Colombia it took us about 2 months to get everything together.  I'm hoping that since we have done much of this before that it will not take the full 2 months.  Once the dossier is completed and sent to China we may begin searching the Waiting Children's list.

I'll let you know in a couple of weeks how much work I accomplished toward our dossier.  We are praying that this year will be filled with less stress, less detours, and more Blackwell children!
